Destination Wedding in Havana

Mayda and Stephen’s destination wedding in Havana, Cuba was a breathtaking affair. It portrayed a union of two cultures, anchored by true love.

This lovely couple met by chance during a trip to Jamaica – Stephen was absolutely fascinated by Mayda from the moment he saw her. However, when they met, Mayda did not speak English, and Stephen did not speak Spanish. But that did not stop them from falling madly in love with each other.

For their destination wedding, they chose Havana, a tremendously rich in culture city that takes you back in time. It is also Mayda’s hometown and the place where her family lives. They were drawn to the city’s liveliness and charm as Havana is well-known for its amazing music, warm and welcoming people, gorgeous historical streets, and stunning architecture.

KICKING OFF THE FESTIVITIES

We kicked off their week-long festivities with a stroll through the 500 year old streets and our cameras caught some of the most magical moments of their celebration. The couple happily danced around to the rhythms the place had to offer. It was the perfect sendoff to their wedding day.

WEDDING DAY

Their wedding day started early in a quintessential villa, where they got ready with their families and closest friends. After that, it was time for the couple to exchange vows. Their ceremony took place in a glorious church with floral details all around. It was like a classic movie scene dipped in old world glamour.

COUPLE'S PORTRAITS

Old American cars are seen everywhere around town and before indulging in reception festivities, we took a ride in a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air for bride and groom portraits. These classics give a certain timeless vintage flair and make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. And such scenery was a perfect match for their story – the spirit of Havana, with an American touch. They once again danced their way through the streets, taking it all in, and savoring every second. Capturing their bond and the city’s energy was a spectacular experience.

THE RECEPTION

Following, Mayda and Stephen celebrated with their loved ones at an emblematic Havana wedding venue, dancing the night away to Cuban live music. All the guests enjoyed the party tremendously, even though they did not speak the same language. However, the language of love and joy was what connected them all!

Mayda and Stephen’s Cuba wedding celebrated unconditional love and the blending of two cultures. Because they wanted to share this treasure with their closest family and friends, they picked the most vibrant city to do so.
